Terms of Use

What this site is, and what it is not
carhiredubrovnik.com is published by Ride Dubrovnik of Obala Stjepana Radica 25, Gruz, Dubrovnik, Croatia. It compares cars offered by independent rental companies working in and around the city, and it refers you to the one you choose. That is the whole of its role. We own no vehicles, insure none, staff no desk and hold no keys.
These terms govern browsing, comparing and sending an enquiry. They stop where the rental agreement begins. The document a supplier puts in front of you at handover covers the hire itself, and where the two overlap it prevails over this page.
Who your contract is actually with
Selecting a car sends your dates, your contact details and your chosen vehicle to the supplier operating it. That supplier confirms the car, sets whatever deposit it requires and issues the reference you travel with. The agreement that results binds you and the supplier. Ride Dubrovnik is not a party to it and cannot vary it.
Using this site costs you nothing. When a rental introduced from here goes ahead, the supplier pays us a commission out of its own marketing budget. It is not a line on your rental price and it does not push you toward one listing over another.
Prices and availability move
Everything shown against a listing, the daily rate, the fuel rule, the mileage allowance, the deposit condition and the description of the car, comes from the rental company and is read from a live feed. A coastal market in high season moves quickly: a car can go while you are reading about it, and a supplier can revise a policy without warning.
The binding figures are the ones the supplier confirms at the moment of booking, never the ones on a results page you saw earlier. Vehicle images illustrate a class rather than the exact car allocated to you. If a listing looks wrong, tell us at [email protected].
What the supplier will ask of you
Each rental company sets its own conditions and meeting them is your responsibility: a licence held for the minimum period stated, an age inside the band shown against the listing, identification in the lead driver's name and a payment method the supplier accepts. Details submitted here must be true, and a desk can decline a booking where the paperwork does not match.
Taking the car out of Croatia changes the picture. Driving south into Montenegro or inland into Bosnia and Herzegovina needs the supplier's written permission, a green card and usually a border fee arranged in advance. Crossing without them breaches the rental agreement rather than this page, and the consequences fall between you and the supplier.
Changing or cancelling a booking
Amendment and cancellation rules belong to the supplier and differ from one listing to the next, so read the ones attached to a car before you commit. Once a booking is confirmed you deal with the supplier directly, using the reference in your confirmation. A refund decision is theirs and not ours to overrule.
The limit of what we can be liable for
We take reasonable care to keep listings accurate and to route enquiries promptly. We do not inspect the cars, employ the staff who hand them over or set the prices. A cancelled reservation, a disappointing car, a disputed damage charge or a deposit held longer than expected sits with the supplier under the contract you signed with it.
As far as Croatian and European law permits, our own liability for your use of this website is confined to direct loss caused by our negligence and excludes indirect or consequential loss, including a missed ferry from Gruz or a forfeited hotel night. No part of this section removes a liability the law refuses to let us exclude, and the consumer rights you hold by statute survive it intact.
Using the site properly
Use it to look for a car you intend to hire. Do not scrape listings, run automated tools against the search, submit invented booking details, or use the enquiry and review forms for anything unlawful or commercial. Access can be restricted where the site is misused.
Intellectual property
The wording, layout, comparisons, guides and code of carhiredubrovnik.com belong to Ride Dubrovnik unless a page says otherwise, and republishing them needs our written permission. Supplier names, logos and vehicle photography stay the property of the rental companies that provided them.
Reviews and anything else you post
A review must describe a rental you took yourself, must not be written for a competitor or a supplier, and must stay clear of anything defamatory. Posting it lets us publish, shorten or withdraw it, without payment. We remove reviews we cannot verify.
Revisions, governing law and contact
These terms are revised as the site and our supplier relationships develop. A revision applies from the moment it appears here, and continuing to use the site is how you accept it.
Croatian law governs this agreement and the Croatian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it. If you are a consumer resident in another European Union country, that choice does not deprive you of the mandatory protections of the law where you live. How the data behind an enquiry is handled is set out separately.
Questions about these terms, a listing or the comparison itself go to [email protected].
